Wisconsin River Golf Club’ superintendent, Troy Jastal, has been with the course since 2002 and is a Class A member of the GCSAA. Troy grew up in southern Wisconsin where he attended Janesville Craig High School before earning his bachelor’s degree in biology from UW Whitewater. While attending college, Troy worked summers on the grounds at Indian Run Golf Club just out of Kalamazoo, MI. After graduating, he worked for two years as the assistant golf pro at the Janesville Country Club in Janesville, WI. Prior to moving to Stevens Point, Troy worked in Janesville as the sales manager at a local John Deere dealer. After spending many years at that position, he decided he wanted to get back into the golf business and accepted a position at the Wisconsin River Golf Club. When Troy is not working or golfing, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors hiking, canoeing and camping with his wife Jessica and their dog, Hailey. Both Jessica and Hailey can be seen at the golf course often as well. Jessica golfs frequently and helps make our many flower beds beautiful when she has the time. Hailey is head of goose control and does a great job of keeping the course free of goose droppings. You will see Hailey riding alongside Troy frequently so be sure to thank her as she always likes to meet new people, especially golfers with snacks!
